Wildcat Park (Violet Ander)
Wildcat Park is located in Corpus Christi Bay and is located in Portland. This is one of the local favorites in the area and has all different water types. Shallow and flat close to shore and small chop to waves the further you go out! The bottom is normally sandy but has some oyster shells and rocks so be careful. Beginners should probably wear booties at this location. There are also a few sandbars so watch out for shallow waters!
Sometimes this place can get crowded on the weekend but has a large asphalt parking lot and a huge grassy area to setup and launch your kite. There is also a shaded pavilion as well as showers.

Wind Description
Wind in Wildcat Park is mainly April - July and comes out of the SE. Normally the wind speed is around 15-20 mph in the afternoon and is generated by thermals. Usually windy 5/7 days in May & June and turns to NE in the winter.
Setup & Launch
You can set up and launch your kite in the large grassy area right at the park. This is also a great place to launch before walking out.
