General Information
On Atlantis Beach -Bonaire, the only legal kiteboarding shore access is at Atlantis Kite Beach, which is located on the island’s far southwest side.
This sandy beach features a launching and landing space, two kite schools, boat rescues (which are required due to the offshore winds), and simple walk-in access to the water. When you arrive, take a moment to get acquainted with the area and learn about local customs.
Atlantis Kite Beach is the only site on the island where riding in the light blue ocean is permitted. We are aware that this is a terrible situation.
Stay clear of the bright blue wherever else if you don’t want to be fined or have your stuff confiscated by STINAPA (the organization that enforces these restrictions).
setup & launch
The Atlantis kite beach, located in the south of Bonaire, is one of the top kiteboarding places in the world, with winds averaging 17-22 knots 300 days a year. Between January and July is the best wind season. On a typical day at this location, there is a constant side-offshore breeze, which may be pretty gusty at times but is great for freeride, freestyle, and big jumps.
