A long peninsula engulfs a wide bay and as one of few beaches in the Panamanian Pacific, Punta Chame receives perfect cross on-shore winds from the north. Winds are strong and constant between December – April, perfect to escape winter in Europe and North America. Leave your wetsuit at home, as water temperatures exceed 27ºC. It is windy almost all day but the afternoon sessions are stronger. As there are no rocks or obstacles in the water, Punta Chame it a great spot for both beginners and advanced kiters. The water conditions are small waves and chop depending on the tide and wind combination. In 2014 the PKRA held one of their kiteboarding championship stops in Punta Chame, but only recently have European and North American tourists discovered Central America’s gem of kiteboarding.
